hostas hosts butterfly

one white butterfly
hovers around the big leaves, like
they were thighs

the white flowers tinkle
tinkerbell style, but the butterfly
doesn't stick
prefering a reed-thin iris frond

whiteness causes colo(u)r blindness
i read
the orange tiger lilies
the red pea flowers, the green growing pears hanging
the daisies, yellow centered, and white
she loves me she loves me not
petals

i remember the university wanting reparation$
for taking out hostas and planting food on campus
Caroline and band of equity gardeners resisting
the corporate diet

the butterfly moves on now, it's
a sunny day
the bees and the dragonflies are working
with

i was going to call it butterfly alley
so many flying past and how they rise up over the fence
and down to the veggies, then
back to the lilac
my heart beats as i watch
how do they fly
how how how

the sundog was big overhead
i need to walk more everyday
an hour goes part too quickly, and
the glint of the iridescent back of the bug
reminds me of the ant with the finger
nail clipping, meeting other ant on the way
